New Maryland Laws Take Effect July 1

New laws taking effect in Maryland include steps to provide funding for Planned Parenthood to mitigate potential federal cuts and require schools to teach about the dangers of opioid addiction.

A state tax break for emergency services personnel also is going into effect, along with measures aimed at protecting bees and opening the nation's only Guinness brewery.

Here's a look at new laws taking effect on July 1:

I'm still waiting in the unconstitutional concealed permit law to change.

I am against a tax break based on career choice. Either we're all created equal or we're unconstitutional.

You can't have it both ways.

To guarantee funds for planned parenthood is absurd, especially after reports that they donated $174,000 to fund the campaign of the democrat that lost in the Georgia special election this week.

This is as good as Maryland has effective 7/1/17? Why not put the death sentence back on the books. Put the law back in the books also all child sex offenders should stay away from Churches, schools, and any other facilities for children-----make it a distance of at least 100 yards. When a sex offender is released from jail the families of his victims should be contacted prior to that date! Landlord held properties should be inspected every year and violators prosecuted. Many more from all of you out there.
