OCEAN CITY — A hectic Thursday night in Ocean City included a drive-by shooting, a stabbing and the accidental discharge of a gun on the beach.
On Friday morning, members of the Ocean City Police Department were restricting access to the beach in the area between 81st and 85th streets to allow authorities to canvas the sand for evidence related to a shooting nearby. Dogs were called to the scene to search for evidence and metal detectors were reportedly going to be utilized on Friday.
In that incident, according to Ocean City Police Public Affairs Specialist Lindsay Richard, an individual accidently discharged a gun and then disposed of it on the beach. The individual suffered minor injuries.
“The safety of our residents and visitors is our first priority and until we exhaust every effort to ensure that the weapon is not on the beach, we will keep the beach closed in the suspected area,” Richard said. “Out of an overabundance of caution, officers have been working throughout the morning using a variety of search techniques to locate the weapon. Anyone with information is asked to call our Crime Tip Hotline at 410-520-5136 immediately. We appreciate the patience of residents and visitors as officers diligently work to resolve the issue.”

A REAL family town - right??!! SMH!
Ironic how the link takes you to the Dispatch report of two shootings and a stabbing right next to the article about how tickets for smoking are up. Also note how the spin on an armed robbery/stabbing is called a "fight." Shoot, rob, and stab but if you smoke, we're all over you.
12:56, are you huffing paint, again?
Keep advertising to the inner city folks...this is what you get...trash and violence...
Be calling it Da OC.
Crime City USA: Beach Version
So they didn't find the gun on the beach-no kidding. This is Baltimore City crap that they pull all the time. Homeboy didn't shoot himself and toss the gun. He was shot by someone but doesn't want to say that's what happened. Now hopefully they all left because then you have to be concerned about revenge.
Sad, but that's ok, the firefighters will be here in 2 weeks!!!!!!!
At 9:30 pm, then we will have to deal with their drunk butts all over the road and the police turning a blind eye to these so called hero's.
