SU Men's lacrosse regains No. 1 spot in nation heading into NCAA tournament

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team has been ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation, according to both the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll and the Laxmagazine.com rankings released on Monday.

The Gulls are back to being the unanimous No. 1 after being No. 2 last week. With this week being the last installment of both rankings for the year, the Gulls finished the season being ranked No. 1 all but one week for both rankings.

In the USILA poll the Gulls are back at No. 1 with 300 points and all 15 first-place votes. The rest of the top five is comprised of, Rochester Institute of Technology (279 points), Bates College (253 points), Wesleyan University (242 points), and St. Lawrence University with 237 points.

In the Laxmagazine.com rankings, SU is No. 1 and is followed by RIT, Wesleyan, Bates, and Denison University.

Salisbury's next game will be a second round NCAA tournament game on Wednesday, May 10 at Sea Gull Stadium. The Gulls will take on the winner of Tuesday's NCAA first round game at Sea Gull Stadium between Misericordia University and Lasell College.
