CMAT Students Survey 'What Salisbury Needs'

SALISBURY, MD---What does Salisbury need?

Many people — and not just in Salisbury — are finding out, thanks to the work of Salisbury University communication arts students under the direction of Dr. Chrys Egan and Elisabeth Mason.

Last fall, eight students presented survey and interview findings on a variety of proposals to members of the greater community, responding to the prompt “What Salisbury needs is ….”

The students, taking a Communications Research Methods class at SU, initially shared posters with their data during the Salisbury Arts & Enteratinment District’s 3rd Friday celebration in downtown Salisbury. The next month, they made a culminating presentation to stakeholders including the City of Salisbury, SU Dining Services and SU’s Institute for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement (PACE).

Topics included an under-21 nightclub, a farm-to-table local food initiative and potential apps for SU events and the University’s Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons.

What attack ?

Please,no more under 21 clubs.Within a month of their opening we can expect to see 100+ kids fighting in the parking lot.Never fails.

Under 21 Club, are you kidding me!?
That would be a total disaster, as it has been in every single community I have lived in. It becomes a neighborhood nuisance, unsafe space, drain on the PD. They all eventually fold after a year or two at the most. Who ever is promoting this is naive.

For this community it will be just another gang and drug infested rat hole.

Salisbury needs an active/aggressive police force, business friendly regulations, free parking in economic zones to encourage customers, stop n frisky policy and fair bidding on property along the waterfront.

This place does not need an under 21 night club. Do you know why under 21 clubs are not successful? Because there is no money to be made in it. How many teenagers have money to go out every night? How many teenagers have money to buy top menu items? How many teenagers have money to tip watresses? NONE

Now I hope you see that this was another STUPID idea by Jake "The Dope" Day!
