Happy Mother's Day

My Mother kept a garden,
a garden of the heart,
She planted all the good things
that gave my life it's start.
She turned me to the sunshine
and encouraged me to dream,
Fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem...
And when the winds and rain came,
she protected me enough-
But not too much because she knew
I'd need to stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example
always taught me right from wrong-
Markers for my pathway
that will last a lifetime long.
I am my Mother's garden.
I am her legacy-
And I hope today she feels the love
reflected back from me...

Happy Mother's Day

Mom has been gone for 11 years now but a day does not go by that I don't think of her fondly. Dad was on the road every day so mom was pretty much everything for us 5 kids. A devout Catholic she attended daily mass getting up to attend before we were awake and then came home to fix breakfast then bused us to school. We never lacked for anything regarding nurturing and while compassionate she tried to teach us how to stand on our own two feet. I sure miss her a lot.

That is very beautiful and my love to those mothers out there. Unfortunately I did not have a mother like that but I did have the best of fathers. Congrats to them all today.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mums out there in the world! Even to Fathers who double as mums. It's your day, too!

Cheers,
Thornton
