Fun fact: There are 417 national parks in the U.S., spanning across more than 84 million acres. And if you're 62 or older, $10 will get you into all of them for the rest of your life.
It's not just national parks. The National Park Service said the $10 Senior Pass provides access to more than 2,000 recreation sites managed by five federal agencies, including the Fish and Wildlife Service, USDA Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
But that price is about to go up significantly. According to the AARP, the lifetime pass for senior citizens will go up to $80 before the end of 2017.

lmao! lifetime pass? I think not! typical government bs! should be called last days pass. since you life is basically almost over at that point! how many 90 yo you see out hiking?
The application form says that it expires 06/17. That may just be the form or it may be the program itself under those guidelines.
I have a Golden Age pass and as I recall it didn't cost me anything which was about 12 years ago.
Got mine right at the entrance to the SkyLine Drive three years ago. Cost $10.00 (the same cost as the entrance fee to the Skyline Drive). Never have to pay for entrance to any national park again. Best deal ever. State park lifetime senior pass just as good. All you have to do is be 62 or older. That's 20 years of no fees, on average.
