Gaining Ground for Wicomico
Week eleven of the Legislative Session began with Chamber Crossover Date on Monday where we spent all day voting on bills in House Chamber so that they could move over and be introduced in the Senate. Our Wicomico County Delegation bill, regarding Sunday hunting, passed in the House this week and will be heard in the Senate Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee on April 4. We are hopeful that the Senate will also pass it and we’re working hard to see that it does. We met with the Director of Maryland Environmental Service, Roy McGrath to discuss a possible apprenticeship program for the State. Roy was one of the Governor’s former Deputy Chiefs of Staff and it was great to see him receive this appointment so that our office can continue working with him in his new role. We had the opportunity to participate in “Foster Youth in Annapolis Shadow Day”. This allowed our office the pleasure of welcoming our new friend, Allayah, from Parkside High School. She tagged along with us and saw how things operate in the office and in the Environment and Transportation Committee.

why are my tax dollars supporting these entities? shoreturds stadium? let perdue a privately held billion dollar company that built it fund it! ward museum? entrance fee maybe needs to be implemented or raised. how many yearly visitors vs money spent? Saw the tubman museum the other day $21 million of taxpayer dollars for a monstrosity of a building in the middle of no where, wonder how many yearly visitors it'll get? did we really need to spend $21 mil?
Again what a waste of money! families struggling and we're building pyramids!
What about the elected school board? People voted for this in the last election. Haven't seen or heard any movement on this issue? I agree with 11:12. Why is taxpayer money still funding the Shorebird stadium? Wicomico County taxpayers should at the very least, get a discount on admission tickets just because we are paying taxes for this building and the improvements. Let Perdue pay for this and not the taxpayers. What the hell are they doing to try and bring jobs into the community? We need less government and more private enterprise.
