Berlin vandal violates probation, gets jail time

In district court last Friday, Judge Gerald Purnell struck the probation before judgment of Jordan Denton, 20, and reinstated her original sentence, while one of her compatriots in the spraypainting spree that shocked Berlin in 2015 was granted a delay because of a paperwork mix up.

This is the second time Denton and Nicholas Bonser, 19, have appeared in court for probation violations since the pair was convicted in June 2015. An unidentified juvenile also admitted involvement.

Court records show Denton tested positive for both alcohol and marijuana use on Aug. 9, the second time she’s failed this particular screening while on probation.

She then failed to show for treatment twice in August and six times in September.

More recent tests also came back positive for cannabis, but Denton disputed the concentration levels.

It's about time! This snowflake has thumbed her nose at the court for way, way too long.

Her sobs echoed in the courtroom? Just the stuff for a Lifetime movie.

Should have had to spend more than 5 days in jail. Total disrespect for other people's property and the legal system.

Obviously a very slow learner. Original offense, plus underage drinking, plus the weed, etc. How about 4 more years of practical schooling at Behind Bars University?

This whole situation is pathetic

There is the drug dealer, A'Ron Jordan White, recently arrested for the third time, who broke probation twice for drugs and guns and he is still out on bail.

So, some twit gets jail time for vandalism and a gun toting drug dealer gets bail, and is arrested two more times in January and is still walking the streets?

Story:
The suspected trafficking of heroin was done within 600 feet of East Salisbury Elementary School, according to court records.

A'Ron Jordan White, 18, of Salisbury, was out on $80,000 bail when the Salisbury Police Tactical Team raided his home on Jan. 27 in the 100 block of White Street following two controlled purchases of heroin, according to court records. The raid was a result of an investigation by the Community Action Team of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.

White was previously arrested on Jan. 20 in connection with the sale of narcotics from a hotel room in Salisbury, police said. In addition to being on bail, White was also on probation in connection with a guns and narcotics conviction in February 2016, according to the Maryland Judiciary Case Search.

The whole thing is a racket. She should have served much more than 5 days so that when she was out she was done. Instead politicians and judges give their friends handouts and increase buerocracy by these lengthy and complicated probation periods where the convicted has to pay for all these tests and check in at surprise meetings. How can you have a job if your required to leave constantly for probation orders. I know many of you are thinking "well they shouldn't have done the crime" but isn't it better for everyone if they serve their just sentence then leave and be able to start fresh.
