The Scout Oath Binds Me to Oppose Transgenderism in Boy Scouts

When I became an Eagle Scout, I made a pledge of loyalty to the organization, and I never expected that pledge to haunt me quite like it does today.

On Monday, the Boy Scouts of America announced its decision to allow transgender "boys" to join the organization. Liberals cheered, conservatives booed, and few noticed that the organization was being sued by a transgender "boy" who was kicked out of his Cub Scout pack.

I spent years in Cub Scouts and in Boy Scouts, eventually rising to the rank of Eagle Scout. My brother followed behind me. So I understand the pain of being excluded from this organization, but what I cannot accept is that it is better for parents to raise a young child to identify with a gender opposite his or her biological sex.

Wow. Seriously. Scouting is dying, no one wants to be in this antiquated child indoctrination scam. Seriously? God and country... pumping out obedient little robots.

The article claims this transgender person violates two of the oaths tenants. It does not. It violates one... the "god" part... and Christians can't even seem to agree on that part either, can you. You then use the God argument to pretend that trans folks aren't trustworthy... which is a straw man and it is patently NOT true.

You all pick and choose don't you? You'll step on those gays all day cause the bible says to, but then you all ignore every bit of what the bible says about how to treat refugees and the oppressed and CHEER when the Muslim ban was put into effect.

Hypocrites.

11.53...We join organizations, clubs, etc., and have a set of rules in place to abide by. Then comes somebody or a group of people that dislike how we have our organization set up and demand we change to suit their needs. Very similar to how our country is getting treated. We are founded on Christianity and before you know it, here comes people wanting it changed to how they perceive it should be. Well, we've had enough! You don't like the rules or what our organization stands for-move along. You don't like our country-leave or never come here. It's all boiling and about to spill over. Complacent patriots are starting to stand up to you people and you either insult or do worse, such as riots or harm. I'm sure this won't sink in but it had to be put out there because a lot of the silent majority are thinking it. Be careful how you push...you won't like how we push back.

I am freaking sick of the Boy Scouts. If girl, yes they are girls, want to join the scouts then they have the option to join the Girl Scouts where they belong.

I am sick and tire of coddling these freaking mentally ill FREAKS!! They need to be institutionalized!

@12:39

America is not, and never was, founded on Christianity. It was founded on liberty and freedom. In fact, the first "settlers", came here to escape religious persecution.

Careful now... sounds like what you are threatening is religious fascism... America is not a theocracy. Are you suggesting we should be? If you are, then stop calling yourself a patriot, stop calling yourself an American, and start calling yourself a radical terrorist.

Remember, when fascism comes to America... It will come waving a flag and carrying a Bible.

Of course this is what the Liberal Nutcases will always say!! Right 11:53 AM, we know this is you. Afraid to let us know who you are!

At this point, why do the organizations call themselves "Boy" and "Girl" scouts? The biological gender no longer means anything to the organizations, and is not descriptive of the members. They are just "scouts" and should merge into one organization. That would solve any and all issues with biological gender and gender identities.

Personally, I have quit supporting both organizations since they started supporting alternate views of gender identity. I buy none of the goods that support their organizations. I buy no overpriced candy, popcorn, or cookies, as it goes to a cause that has become perverted.

"Scouting" is a cause that I could support and have supported in the past, but I can't support what they are doing now. Why they continue to promote the idea of boy and girl scouts baffles me when it doesn't matter what gender (biological) that they are.

101....the pilgrims, first settlers as you say, came here because they were being persecuted for being Christians.
Those worshiping islam, whether mildly or radical...follow the same teaching...which is to persecute and even kill to get you to convert.
The temporary ban is to sift out the terrorist, just so happens their muslum.
You owe it to yourself and to the rest of us to be more informed.

I am a Boy Scout Eagle 40+ years ago. I pledged to be true to myself and my Creator. My Creator made me a boy, and I held my pledge to do that.

Please, prey tell, how can a girl do that?

5:29 Then maybe you should give back your award if you can't represent it's meaning!

11:53 The bigger question is why would a parent want to enroll their child in an organization that believes their lifestyle is a sin?

wrong 1:01. were you indoctrinated in government/public schools...so sad. try to search for Truth. Google American Founding texts...

Obviously you were never in scouting.

I was a Boy Scout. The perverts trying to destroy the Boy Scouts makes my blood boil. I took an oath to be morally straight and still take it seriously today. Morality matters. I will fight the perverts on every level.

2:45 here. Other than the fact that I think BSA has put too much focus on popcorn sales, I had the greatest experience and wouldn't trade it for anything.

8:31 Obviously you are wrong. Was Scoutmaster for 2 years and have 2 Eagle Scouts from a local troop!
