South Bound Rt 13 on ESVA between Melfa and Onley is stopped. Tractor trailer slid off road and wreckers are attempting to pull him out. Cars are trying to turn around in the median and are also getting stuck.

Schools close because of the lawyers. It's not so much a safety issue. Sue sue sue sue sue sue...........

Car off road on Salisbury bypass.
They did not clear us very well.

Anonymous said...

It IS a safety issue for kids and bus drivers! Why should they risk their lives, the lives of children, other drivers and their livlihoods to go to schools that are covered in ice because it is way too cold to clear the parking lots and walk ways! And God forbid the kids go to Beaver Run on Wi Hi...they are outside schools! Get over it and take care of your kids and be thankful that the new Superintendent and bus drivers care about the safety of the children, bus drivers and school staff! The day will be made up in June.

Then there morons and should get heafty fines.

Why does WOR-WIC have a two hour delay when UMES and SU are closed? Are they CRAZY? They're just ridiculous.

Anonymous said...

MD knew this was coming from the South and it never fails, storms coming from that direction always hit us bad. Why wasn't better provisions made to get at least the roads clear. School should still be closed but people can't get to work and yet bosses don't give a hoot about the weather, all they care about is people showing up. Really stupid considering office work can be done from home on a person's cellphone in this day and age. The courts and all county, city and state office should be closed, too. Court will still be there on Tuesday or Wednesday.

8:11 sounds like a teacher that wants the day off. According to you,the majority of the country of Canada is putting there children and bus drivers lives at risk thousands of times a year because they drive on snow and ice. Let's also not forget about the state of Alaska among many others. Oh, I guess they are all doing it wrong.

Smile said...

9:33. This is not Alaska or Canada. People are not use to the snow and ice here. My grandchildren have the day off and I am happy that someone has the common sense to make decisions based on safety. As far as teachers wanting the day off they will make it up just as they have done for years. 9:33 let the teachers do their job just as hopefully you do yours without always being put down because of the profession you went into. As a former teacher and administrator And the father of a teacher today I am so sick of people always getting on the cases of teachers!

Learning is the key to survival. Knowledge is strength. Sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do. Getting educated is important. If you went to school more and not when it was more convenient your grammar would be better less embarrassing!!

Anonymous said...

Im sure grammar doesnt much matter when your life is in the hands of a icy road way.

To each its own. If you want to drive on ice, move to Alaska. Enjoy!

Anonymous said...

Please move to Alaska or Siberia. I hate ice and snow. You moron.

11:01 PM you mean get your indoctrination? Define "education". Our forefathers were "uneducated" and invented most of what you use on a daily basis..

If you do not properly know how to get to school on time in any situation then you don't deserve to have kids. Typical Snowflake!

That's exactly right. The schools need to get some balls. Just because school is in session doesn't mean they are at fault if someone is in an accident. The accident was caused by someone and it wasn't the school system. The schools are ran by a bunch of pansy liberals who need to hide in a safe space. They also like the free day off at the tax payers expense.

Kudos to Wor Wic for only having a 2 hour delay. At least they are smart enough to think for themselves and knows that people are driving around in it anyway!

BINGO!!! Bunch of damned idiots want a free day off work at the tax payers expense. Also there are a bunch on here that don't have jobs so that means they can sleep in. It has nothing to do with the "safety of children." This thing just keeps snowballing(no pun intended) year after year and people just automatically start thinking that snow means "schools have to be closed" but I am going to drive my kids to the Mall to hang out all day.

If you are a teacher you are a very uneducated individual and I pray that you don't have to teach my family. No wonder this country is in the shape it's in. Typical teacher wanting a free day off. No they won't be making it up during the Summer, the Superintendent will be requesting a waiver.

Look at that user name "Smile." LMAO and he claims to be a man. You lost your man card a long time ago you old Putz!

These idiots on here are claiming the schools will "make it up in June." I've got news for you Libtards. The last 2 weeks of school is nothing buy just showing up for field trip and doing nothing. Showing up isn't making anything up!

Funny these liberals keep falling back on the "icy road way" excuse, but they keep driving on it to run down the street to the gas station to get cigarettes or to Gamestop to pick up a game or to Redbox to get a video. Funny how that works!

Good for you. Glad to see yo have no worries about your kids safety as fools drive wrecklessly out here. People who have to work in this mess have the right to worry about driving in this mess. Sound like you dont work and bored, bet if you had to work 8 hrs in it you'd feel differently. Your 20 min drive time is the least of your carefree worries. Working people pay taxes too

Guess when u assume you make ass of yourself. I was chauffered and was in a big truck and still was scared. Today was my first day driving and it was to be at work & had to drive all day, it was the most anxiety driven day i ve had. Fools driving faster than they do when there is no snow.
