Joe Maldonado joined Pack 87 in Secaucus in October and was asked to leave about a month later, according to The Record.
“I’m way more angry than sad,” Joe said in a story published Tuesday. “My identity is a boy. If I was them, I would let every person in the world go in. It’s right to do.”
Joe was born a girl but has identified as male for more than a year. His mother, Kristie Maldonado, said Joe is accepted as a boy at school and that it was complaints from parents — not Joe’s fellow Scouts — that led to his ouster.

First, I don't believe the story. But if true, what 8 year old knows anything about their or anyone else's sexual orientation? My guess? None!

This is a satanic agenda.
I think it is up to each "club" if they will allow a trans gendered child. So, since she/he is looking to join scouts, she/he would have to find one that accepts she/he. I am sure her/his parents could ask around and find a cub club accepting to her/his identity crisis.
On the other hand, as a scout mom, I am not sure if I would want my pre teen/teen son sharing a tent with a girl. I am certain at the age this child is, the peers in this group would be very confused. I have a very open mind, but I am an adult, I don't think putting my child (current scout) in a situation like that would be positive for either party.
The girls Mom is just as bad as a Pop Warner parent or Beauty pageant parent on steroids pushing their children through their PARENTAL agenda. They need to let their kids be kids and learn about who they are instead of screwing them up for the rest of their lives.
Make there own club and stop the PC BS.

Look at it this way...After spending a few nights in tents with young boys she would probably be sure of her gender identity. Problem solved.

Saw this story on Cbs. The mom looked like a crack or meth head. Nothing wrong w/ being a tom boy, but she is a girl as born. At 8 years old i hated panty hose, dresses etc., and i was a tomboy. I thank god my mother and family did not say go be a boy. I was told you are a female and this is and what is not acceptable. I d be walking around 40 and confused. With all the confusion in the world who needs more.

She can pretend (identify) all she wants, but until she has surgery, she's a girl, and cannot be a member of a boys organization. I wholly concur with he ban from the organization. Perhaps she and her family should concentrate on forming an organization that serves other like minded (?) individuals like their daughter, rather than trying to alter a different organization of like minded and physically similar kids.

BSA also has "Venture Scouting", which is for high school age and opened to boys and girls. I am an Eagle Scout, my sister was welcome to meetings and a lot of girl siblings were welcome to certain trips like our annual ski outing. We had kids in the troop that everyone suspected were gay but they were never treated any differently. This is about parents with an agenda and the kid they have raised to be a whack job.
