“I told Russia to stop it, and indicated there will be consequences when they do it,” he said to reporters during a press conference on Friday.
Obama said that he personally challenged Russian President Vladimir Putin behind the scenes, but he let law enforcement handle the investigations and the release of information.
“In early September when I saw President Putin in China I felt that the most effective way to ensure that that didn’t happen was to talk to him directly and tell him to cut it out, and there were going to be some serious consequences if he didn’t,” he said.
“Our goal continues to be to send a clear message to Russia or others not to do this do to us because we can do stuff to you,” he said.

You want to know why our country is in the state it is currently? Look no farther than this. We have an election where the "Russians intervened" (though I don't believe that at all) by exposing the truth. Not once has anyone with substance said that these emails were not real. The individuals exposed the true way the DNC and Dems interacted during the election. And instead of saying this is unacceptable of our politicians, we blame another country for "interfering." This is why children have no discipline, instead of blaming them or the parents we blame teachers and society. Instead of blaming criminals, we blame guns, race, etc. America has learned that we never take responsibility for our actions, we simply blame others for the outcome.

Because his imagined warning to Putin was off camera...it never happened. He can babble on about red lines, stern warnings, dirty looks, scratching his nose with his middle finger, etc. It's all BS and fiction. The only one impressed is himself as he preens in his mirror.
