In Annapolis and in state capitols across the country, the Electoral College meets today.
In Annapolis, 10 electors will cast ballots for Maryland. Governor Larry Hogan will certify the electors and the election results in a 1 p.m. ceremony in the Governor's Reception Room at the State House.
Maryland's electors are legally bound by the results of the popular vote in the state, meaning Maryland's 10 electors will all vote for Hillary Clinton.
Maryland State Board of Elections spokeswoman Donna Duncan says the actual voting will take about 30 minutes, preceded by ceremonial speeches and followed by the signing of official documents.

Another reason not to pay taxes in Maryland.
More counties voted Trump. Baltimore voted Clinton.
The vote should go to Trump
Cast those 10 votes and then look at the nationwide results. The whole nation spoke, not just the cities where decades of the policies of Democratic party politics have turned them into crap and threatened to do the same to the entire country.
Good thing for Democrats in Maryland that the electors ALL have to vote for the one who won the popular vote in Maryland. Clinton wouldn't get all ten if the votes were split according to the county popular votes. The electoral college votes in Maryland will never be fairly apportioned as long as the Democrats are in charge. Maybe some day.....like when we get terms limits for our representatives in the State House.
The election is over. Just accept the fact that Trump is President and move on. Maryland's Eastern Shore Counties all voted Trump!!!
Why bother? I don't understand why Hogan would want to fund something that accomplishes nothing more than they already know.
Can't believe you guys are serious. She won the vote in the state. The votes go to her! What are you so worked up about? Trump's still going to win with Electoral College. Quit your whining and go find a safe space, snowflake.
TRUMP!
TRUMP!
TRUMP!
Can't change that!
The fun in this is NOOOOOOOO matter what Hogan and the rest of the
fools do at 5:00 P.M. Trump will be the President and the Dumbocrats can s#$%^&*t in their hats. Hogan included. See if the 'two Mikes' can change that. Ha,Ha Dumbocrats, in the end run YOU LOSE. Bob Aswell
Maryland Electors = Moronic Libtards
Many may remember when starting school here, we had a book titled "My Maryland". As a dumb kid, I was proud of Maryland and was raised being proud and even taught at home and school to be proud of our government.
I wasn't brainwashed by my democrat parents or school to become a democrat. When I grew up I registered republican and been happy until this yo-yo won eight years ago. I threaten to never vote again, but couldn't follow through. I have been planning on going independent due to the way Trump had been treated by the GOP. I'll now keep a eye on how it goes from now on out.
Anyway reading this post makes me embarrassed to be a Marylander. The good governor of MD pulling a John Kasich, these brain dead electors, etc. At least I can hold my head up that Trump will Make America Great Again and HRC should hide from the law.
Dave T: Why am I not surprised.
Note that all the areas that voted for Clinton have the most welfare recipients. Fact is that California has more people on government hand outs than they have working.
I hope all of you remember Hogan when he comes up for re election. I remind you that he is the republican that stated he would NOT endorse Trump. Well Mr Hogan, I don't plan to vote for you next go. Your are just a hair better than OWE MALLEY.....but I'm sure there are better out there than either of you.
I would love to see the Electoral College go 'pro-rata' or in proportion to the voters in each state. This would provide a much better way to show actual votes in each state. No, it would not have changed this election, but the 'winner-takes-all' for each state doesn't make much sense, either. This way, the electoral results would be much closer to the popular vote, instead of what looks like an election landslide.
This would give states like Maryland a much better representation- especially for areas like the E.S. It would give conservative voters in Maryland more reason to vote, if they thought their voice counted.
3:47 You would be an idiot NOT to vote for the one Republican governor who can make a difference in a very blue state. What good would it do any of us for him to go way right?? Ever think of that? It would be political suicide for him to have supported Trump in this election - all of the snowflakes would have forced him out next time around. He has to straddle the fence to get anything accomplished. So, pull your head out of your arse, so it won't explode when you fart. It's people like you the reason republican governors don't last in the Free State.
I'm glad politicians like Hogan showed their spots in this election, they are so full of BS and for that matter haven't seen a whole lot of promised progress.
Only 7 out of Maryland's 30 counties voted for Clinton. The other 23 voted for Trump.
Something is wrong with our Elector System.
Doin what they're supposed to be doing.
A) MD has 24 counties, with Baltimore city treated as a county.
B) The states decide individually how to apportion the Elector votes they are entitled to. (Formula is 1 elector for each congressional representative and senator). Some states, like Maryland, are state winner take all; other states have formulas that appealed to them.
C) At the time the Constitution was adopted there was concern (fear) that the few larger states (VA, PA, NY in particular) would ride roughshod over the smaller ones; it was a major sticking point and the Electoral College proved a good solution. It still is. The 538 electoral votes are pretty easily traced and verified. The padding and fraud of votes in major population centers; not so much.
Thanks to the Framers!
