Cold Weather Precautions
Subfreezing temperatures and wind chills can be dangerous and even life-threatening
for people who don't take the proper precautions. It is important for everyone to monitor
their local weather reports and take steps now to stay safe, whether traveling or at
home, during times of extreme cold temperatures. During cold weather, you should take
the following precautions: - Stay indoors as much as possible and limit your exposure to the cold;
- Dress in layers and keep dry;
- Check on family, friends, and neighbors who are at risk and may need additional assistance;
- Know the symptoms of cold-related health issues such as frostbite and hypothermia and seek medical attention if health conditions are severe.
- Bring your pets indoors or ensure they have a warm shelter area with unfrozen water.
- Make sure your vehicle has an emergency kit that includes an ice scraper, blanket and flashlight – and keep the fuel tank above half full.
- If you are told to stay off the roads, stay home. If you must drive, don’t travel alone; keep others informed of your schedule and stay on main roads.

Can you believe the government has to tell people this. Are people this stupid nowadays? Next thing you know they will need a Public Service Announcement telling them how to wipe their butts properly. That's what this country is coming to.
I agree with 7:58. The only exception is with the "pets". Most, if not all, of those shackled critters have no choice as to their environment. Take extra care of them.
Should we bring the ducks and geese inside? They are our pets.
Sounds like my company but at the end it's... now get out there and work.
I'm with you 7:58!
Does this say more about those disseminating the info or those that presumably need it?
Delmarva's News Leader once ran a segment on how to wear a hat during a cold spell.
Actually, there are health department instructions for women to wipe their butts up and from the back to avoid infections by contaminating their vaginas with.... well, you get the idea. The rest of the instruction is to wipe the vagina down from the front, not up.
LOL 9:42!
9:03, the problem is public service announcement or not the garbage that leaves their pets outside without proper shelter are going to do it anyway.
