Summer vacation can throw your child off their normal sleep schedule very easily, making the back-to-school transition that much more difficult for the both of you. According to a recent NBC News article, keeping sleep schedules the same everyday is very important because adopting an irregular schedule during summer vacation means it will be harder to readapt when school starts again.
Sleep industry leader and credentialed clinical sleep educator Terry Cralle, RN, MS, CPHQ, has years of experience educating people on the power of sleep. As the author of the new “Sleeping Your Way To The Top” and the children’s book “Snoozby and the Great Big Bedtime Battle” and as the national spokesperson for the Better Sleep Council, Terry is passionate about spreading the importance of healthy sleep, especially when it comes to the development of children. She is a member of the Board of Directors for Start School Later, Inc. which advocates for later school start times to eliminate teen sleep deprivation. Terry also works closely with the Pajama Program which is a national nonprofit devoted to giving books and pajamas to children in need.
When children miss out on sleep it will likely affect their long-term physical and mental development. Sleep is critical for children and poor sleep schedules can result in problems with childhood obesity, mood and behavior issues, depression, misdiagnosis of ADHD, and poor school performance.

Parents today don't have any control over their children and let them do what ever the child wants. There is no enforcement of bedtime. What a joke. Want a picture of what a family looks like around here, take a photo of the checkout line at Walmart. They don't look like the photo above.
