As a native New Yorker, EVERYONE knows that the cops are the biggest gang in the city...even relatives who work for the NYPD will tell you that in private...when they come to peoples homes for house calls in the outer boroughs like Staten Island and Brooklyn, they literally steal stuff from your house when you are not looking...I've seen it three times in my life....
New York City was a drop-off place for Britain's nuisance citizens convicted of crimes. They boarded them on ships and sent them here and Australia. You have to be extra careful. Gullible people who'd believe anything anyone tells you should not go.
