Officer testifies for the prosecution in Freddie Gray case

BALTIMORE (AP) — A Baltimore police officer on Monday testified that a colleague who faces criminal charges in the arrest and death of Freddie Gray wasn’t involved in the man’s detention and only touched Gray after he’d been placed in handcuffs.

Officer Garrett Miller took the stand in the nonjury trial of Officer Edward Nero, who faces assault, misconduct in office and reckless endangerment charges stemming from Gray’s arrest, which prosecutors say was unlawful. Miller faces identical charges.

Prosecutors also say Nero was negligent when he failed to buckle Gray into a seat belt after he, Miller and another officer slid Gray head-first onto the floor of a police transport van, handcuffed and shackled.

Miller told Baltimore Circuit Judge Barry Williams that he alone arrested and detained Gray, and that Nero didn’t touch Gray until after the man was in custody. Gray died April 19 of last year, a week after his neck was broken in the van.

Hopefully he only has good things to say about his fellow boys in blue.

This is about BLM rather than the truth , Freddie Gray was a thug a criminal and a very bad person. These officers did nothing wrong , just another Treyvon Martin or Ferguson incident to lie about criminals . When will the blacks understand that laws apply to them also?

Freddie Gray committed suicide trying to injure himself , He had tried it before but only broke his neck , it was repaired , they couldn't repair this damage. Mr. Gray is dead , the city is now much safer without his existence.

The questions are...did the deceased do any unlawful act that is on the books in the State of Maryland. Did the good people in blue take the subject in custody because of breaking such laws? If so did the arrested break these said laws thinking it would be just fine to do so.

I am getting peeved to see our law enforcement being charged when doing what the state commissioned them to do.

The citizens of this country will not have any problem with being arrested if they follow a few rules of society. Sure there are exceptions, very small percent probably.

I don't work for any law enforcement agency, nor do any of my family. But would like to thank them all for being there. Without them, we couldn't even leave the house. Be careful out there!

Special thanks:
Sheriff David Clarke
Sheriff Joe
Trump!

Officer Miller harmed the state's case by doing nothing more then telling the truth.

Officer Miller took the stand yesterday as a prosecution witness. Very reminiscent of the Zimmerman trial where all the states witnesses ended up helping the defense and doing nothing for the state. The state rested yesterday and the defense started calling witnesses yesterday. Expected to end today or tomorrow morning and verdict expected by tomorrow.

I'm with you 8:06 except one correction. The law Gray broke was a Baltimore city law and not a state's law. Spring loaded knives are legal in MD but not in the city. The knife is all but forgotten.
Remember mosby the affirmative action loser so compelled to show off that she proclaimed the knife was legal in the state of MD so just like the rest of the affirmative action degenerates not knowing Balto City has it's own set of laws and Gray was charged under those laws. I'll tell you between obama and her and a lot of others blacks in this country have so very much to be ashamed of. And they are so ignorant that when a good moral smart black comes on the scene like Dr Ben Carson they ridicule and marginalize them. It's no wonder their youth are killing each other off like they are. Such an immoral people they are.
