While the Daily Times brags about getting top honors from a non profit 501c6 organization no one has ever heard of, these pats on the back for what I'm confident the majority of you will agree with, is complete BS.
Dan Satterfield from WBOC gets top honors in the state, (allegedly) from yet another group no one has ever heard of. Greg Bassett gets top honors from the left wing Chamber of Commerce.
So here's my message to ALL of the main stream media on the Shore. I'll show you my hits if you'll show me yours.
If ANYONE deserves top honors it should go to the group that is actually garnishing viewers/subscribers. FUNNY, the Metropolitan Magazine REFUSES to put MEDIA in their "Best Of" because each and every one of you knows who would come out on top. Then again, we don't advertise there so I'm sure that would be rigged too.
Greg Bassett got on Facebook and "Liked" the Daily Times award. What an Idiot, suck up.

I'm waiting for the Pulitzer they win for the Jim Ireton editorial and the Hat Tip for someone who LOST his primary to a loser who never campaigned. Boy I hear the Pulitzer judges were wowed by Suzie Parker's editorial writing. I can hear the awards being announced now... and the "Pulitzer for Brown Nose Shill Reporting goes to Suzie Parker and the Delmarva Rag! Congratulations!". What POS. Total P - O - S - ... They waste above the fold for some awards NO ONE has ever heard of because it's the only awares Suzie Parker could win except for maybe bad yellow crooked teeth. She has that one hands down!
These awards are a joke. I compare the daily times awards to the New York Times in compitition with the Somerset Herald. These People are starved for rerecognition.
The paper is a joke. I have a few awards. Best Fish rag. Best newspaper to put coffee rinds in. Best newspaper to wipe my behind with. Best newspaper to wrap a gift with when I run out of wrapping paper. Best paper which rips its news from SBynews.com Best newspaper that's better than two lame tv stations. Those are a start!
Oh add to my awards list "Best newspaper which kisses Jim Ireton's a$$" !
I stopped my Daily Times subscription earlier this month, after having a 52 year relationship with the paper, starting out as a paperboy. What put me over the top was the editorial suggesting government spend a lot more money on training people to better handle conflict resolution. A better way to handle conflict resolution matters starts and stays with the family. If the family isn't present to raise & rear the child, they deserve to have but 1. Limit the number of children irresponsible parents can have, limit the funding, and over time, it will lower conflict resolution issues. And yes, stick them in jail for full, repeat offenses.
You can win the Metro award if you don't advertise. It takes work, but it's possible.
They won't make a category for you to win unless you advertise, though.
These are much like the awards that are touted on huge banners on the sides of hospitals. They are paid for by the hospital. They are advertising. It's a racket.
"Left Wing Chamber of Commerce"? Your kidding, right, Joe?
