A fake gun in a robbery will still get you the time in prison. It is all about intent, when a cop tells you to drop the gun, do it or be prepared to die. Guilty people run.
No problem really. You point it at a cop or another armed person you get what you get.
should not be an issue. If you are caught dealing fake drugs you are charged as the real thing. This should be the same. If you are dumb enough to pull a fake gun you should be treated as if it is the real thing.

Painting the orange safety tip is a crime
For a while criminals were painting their real guns tip orange to gain the few seconds on a cop, then police training changed to fire first, and keep firing till threat is not breathing.
What do you expect now that we have printers that can spit out fake guns.
