BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard assisted a man Saturday who was injured in a personal watercraft accident near Ocean City.
A 24-foot Special Purpose Craft-Shallow Water crew from Coast Guard Station Ocean City was on patrol when friends of the injured man flagged the crew for assistance.
The man sustained a leg injury and displayed signs of hypothermia.
“After realizing EMS transport from the island would be impractical and time consuming, I decided to intentionally ground our vessel on the northern side of the island and sent two crewmen to assist the victim and to transport him back [to our boat] to be taken to our station where EMS were waiting for him," said Petty Officer 2nd Class Andrew Sumski, the coxswain aboard the SPC-SW.
Awaiting EMS personnel transported the man to Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.

bill him Dano!
And we got to pay for his stupidity!
I guess the Ocean City Fire Department and their million dollar fire boat couldn't handle it!
The ocean city fire department wasn't contacted.
You are the cheapest bunch of tight wads I have ever seen. All you do is complain about how much this or that costs. It must really suck to be so worried about money, especially when it comes to saving the lives of others. Great christian values! I bet none of you pay 10% of your income to your church.
