For February, the national unemployment rate was 4.9%, but for whites alone it was 4.3%, and for Blacks it was 8.8%, more than double the rate of whites, according to the latest data available from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
Asians had the lowest unemployment rate at 3.8%, and Hispanics' unemployment rate in February was 5.4%.
Young workers, ages 16 to 19, had an unemployment rate of 15.6%.
The BLS also reported that the more expansive analysis of the unemployed, the U-6 number, showed the national unemployment rate was 9.7% in February.

Mmm , could the black rate be so high because they don't like to work full time or they can't work full time because of work release?

7:09-Honestly,I have never heard a judge ask if a person was getting unemployment before ordering their incarceration.As far as aquiring unemployment during their incarceration a judge will not award it if the perp was employed when the arrest occurred.Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
As a citizen I want to know the real number of people out of work in this country. I really don't care if you are pink with purple polka dots, so breaking it down by race is non sense.
The powers that be break everything down into races, schools, voting, employment, etc. Its getting old.

Hey, but the minorities still love him. Obama hasn't given them jobs, but he has given them phones, food stamps, section 8 housing, utility assistance, unemployment compensation, and welfare to live on so they don't even have to work, which is what they want anyway. The last eight years has been the best of times for the minorities. That's why you don't hear them complaining about their high unemployment rate.

Social Security was established and designed to be a "safety net", not an entitlement. That it has become an "entitlement" is a good part of the problem with the program's solvency. Why in the world that the program sends out checks to people that have hundreds of thousand dollars in income, just because they "paid in to it", is just bad for the ones who really need it (safety net). Quit letting the very well off collect Social Security and Social Security will last forever and will still be there for our children without having to wait until they are 70, or older, to collect. When the rules are changed the next time (very soon), most people (our children) will not live long enough to collect.
People people it is no surprise what the federal governments agenda is and how they go about doing it. The entitlements, the constant mass hysteria they create, the wars that are waged. Who do you think is profiting from all of this? This is by far very big business for those making these decisions, it's their version of entitlement and their getting rich off the hard working middle class tax dollar. The United States government the biggest ponzie scheme going when are we going to put a stop to it as the citizens??
