Salisbury, MD – Women Supporting Women has recently received a $4,707 grant funded by the Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation to help pay for publishing their monthly newsletter, “Care & Share”. The newsletter, which features articles on nutrition, health and the latest on the advancements in treatments for breast cancer, also includes articles written by local breast cancer survivors.

“Breast cancer has touched so many lives. Being able to help such a wonderful support community such as Women Supporting Women communicate with cancer patients and their caregivers, is a very exciting grant to make,” said Kim Nechay, executive director of the Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation. “We at Perdue and the Foundation hope the newsletters make a difference in their lives.”

“We thank the Perdue Foundation for approving WSW to receive this grant to help pay for the cost of our ‘Care & Share’ monthly newsletter,” Emily Rantz, Director of Community Relations at WSW said. “This is a vital part of our organization as our survivors look forward to reading it every month. We have women tell us they send the newsletter to family and friends so they can read it as well. It’s a big part of who we are.”

Women Supporting Women is a local, grass-roots non-profit organization dedicated to providing awareness, education and support to all those who are affected by breast cancer. With no national ties or funding, they rely completely on our community to help provide free services to our neighbors, friends and families right here on Delmarva.
