Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release 2-8-16

On Thursday, February 4, 2016 members of the Dorchester County Narcotics Task Force and the Caroline County narcotics task Force combined resources to establish a joint operation which targeted individuals suspected of transporting illegal narcotics across state and county lines in Maryland and Delaware. The operation resulted in a traffic stop in the area of Rt.392 & Rt.331 at the Finchville Light. The suspect 27 year old Tione Diaz Austin of 3599 Laurel Grove Road, Federalsburg, Md. was stopped and when he learned a K-9 scan of his vehicle was going to take place he fled the area in his vehicle almost striking a Dorchester County Deputy Sheriff. The officers gave chase and after a brief pursuit which ended in the town of Hurlock on Charles Street after he intentionally rammed a Dorchester County Sheriff’s Patrol Vehicle, he was taken into custody.

The suspect was charged with numerous motor vehicle violation along with 3 counts of First Degree Assault, 3 counts of Second Degree Assault, 3 counts of Reckless Endangerment, Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin and Possession of Heroin. The drug charges come after he was found to be in possession of 4.5 grams of Heroin and $1,012.00 which was seized. He was ordered Held without Bond by a Court Commissioner. There were no injuries reported by any of the 3 Deputies involved

At least Dorchester County is trying to do something about it. When is Wicomico County going to do something about it in north western Wicomico County?
