Date of Incident: 27 November 2015

Location: 31000 block of Old Ocean City Road, Salisbury, MD

Suspect: Teaira Shenall White, 34, Salisbury, MD

Narrative: On 27 Nov 2015 at 3:21 AM a deputy responded to a reported domestic related altercation at a residence on the 31000 block of Old Ocean City Road. Upon arrival, the deputy met with two subjects who were visibly intoxicated. During the investigation into the reported incident, the deputy learned that Teaira White reportedly assaulted her brother when she grabbed him around the neck. The deputy observed signs of injury on the victim that corroborated that account.

The deputy placed White under arrest and transported her to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner released White on $20,000 unsecured bond.

Gregory BrownGregory BrownIncident: Driving While Revoked

Date of Incident: 27 November 2015

Location: Rt. 50 at Naylor Mill Road, Salisbury, MD

Suspect: Gregory L. Brown, 28, Delmar, MD

Narrative: On 27 Nov 2015 at 11:28 AM a deputy stopped a vehicle operated by Gregory Brown for displaying a suspended vehicle registration. During the stop the deputy discovered that Brown’s privilege to drive had ben suspended and revoked by the State of Delaware.

During further query the deputy learned that Brown had just been cited for the same offense back in September 2015 and was currently awaiting adjudication for two additional charges of the same offense.

The deputy placed Brown under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Brown in the Detention Center in lieu of $25,000.00 bond.

Eugene PurnellEugene PurnellDebra TawesDebra TawesIncident: Possession of Crack Cocaine

Date of Incident: 27 November 2015

Location: Salisbury Blvd. at Northwood Drive, Salisbury, MD

Suspect: 1. Eugene Purnell, 54, Berlin, MD
               2. Debra Ann Tawes, 37, Salisbury, MD

Narrative: On 27 Nov 2015 at 5:07 PM a deputy stopped a vehicle operated by Eugene Purnell for a seat belt violation. The observed furtive movement by Purnell and his passenger, Debra Tawes, coupled with obvious anxiety about being stopped which led to the summonsing of a WCSO Drug K9 team. The K9 conducted a scan of Purnell’s vehicle which yielded a positive alert for the presence of the odor of illegal drugs. During a subsequent search the deputy located and seized what was identified as crack cocaine from the center console.

The deputy placed both Purnell and Tawes under arrest and transported them to the Central Booking Unit where they were processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner released both on unsecured bond.

Shawn WoodfordShawn WoodfordIncident: Driving Suspended

Date of Incident: 28 November 2015

Location: Booth Street, Salisbury, MD

Suspect: Shawn Dion Woodford, 24, Salisbury, MD

Narrative: On 28 Nov 2015 at 9:56 AM a deputy stopped a vehicle operated by Shawn Woodford after discovering the vehicle’s registration was suspended. During the stop, the deputy also discovered that Woodford’s driver’s license had been suspended by the State of Maryland.

The deputy also discovered an open Circuit Court Bench warrant that was issued after Woodford failed to appear for a Driving Uninsured case.

The deputy placed Woodford under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Woodford in the Detention Center in lieu of $5,000.00 bond.

Holly MillsHolly MillsIncident: Assault on a Deputy / DUI

Date of Incident: 28 November 2015

Location: 32000 block of Downing Road, Delmar, MD

Suspect: Holly Marie Mills, 43, Delmar, MD

Narrative: On 28 Nov 2015 at 7:08 PM a deputy responded to a reported motor vehicle collision in the 32000 block of Downing Road in Delmar, MD. Upon arrival, the deputy located a vehicle in a ditch and the reported driver, Holly Mills, sitting next to the vehicle crying. As the deputy approached Mills, she began to vomit. The deputy detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from both Mills and her vomit. The deputy also discovered that Mills had her 7 year old son in the vehicle with her.

The deputy observed that Mills was unable to walk without assistance and had become both argumentative and uncooperative.

Mills attempted to assault the investigating deputy and managed to strike a second deputy who had arrived to assist. During the transport to the Sheriff’s Office, Mill attempted to assault the deputy while he was driving the patrol vehicle and repeatedly hit her head against the passenger side window in what appeared to be attempt to break it out. A different deputy arrived with a vehicle equipped with a transport cage for the ride back to the Sheriff’s Office, during which Mills attempted to kick that deputy through the partition.

At the Sheriff’s Office, Mills refused to take any additional tests (including a breath test), refused to sign any related paperwork and continually beat on the door of the holding cell.

The deputy transported Mills to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Mills in the Detention Center in lieu of a bond of $25,000.00 bond.

Thank God the child was ok! How would this "mom" feel if she had harmed her son. What must he feel like seeing his mom like that. What a terrible shame!
