At school yesterday I asked if I was allowed to put "Merry Christmas & Happy New Year" on the outdoor front sign. I was told, "No."

Thanksgiving is not a religious holiday but Christmas is.

Sorry, but Thanksgiving is a religious holiday, but not as obvious as, say, Christmas or Easter. The thanks that were given were offered up to God for the success of the colony. They weren't thanking themselves or the native Americans, they were thanking God.
I love the fact people worry about stuff like this then vote the same people in who tell them no. BRILLIANT.
They were thanking the earth for giving them an abundance of food.
It should include christmas, hanukkah, kwanza and mawlid. Covers most everyone.
