History has completely ignored the WOMEN who came onto the beach for the Red Cross during WW2.Why is that? A double standard that was never even acknowledged.My father recalled as they exited the landing crafts before the fighting had even stopped,just to render aid to the wounded.He said they completely disregarded their own safety and saved many lives.And yes I realize my comment has no relevance to this post,but it has relevance.Over 70 years have passed and 99% of Americans currently living have zero knowledge of the extent of female involvement in WW2.
