Father and Son Talk

A young Arab boy asks his father, "What is that weird hat you are wearing?"

The father said, "Why, it's a 'chechia' because in the desert it protects our heads from the intense heat of the sun."

"And what is this type of clothing that you are wearing?" asked the young man.

"It's a 'djbellah' because in the desert it is very hot and it protects the body." said the father.

The son asked, "And what about those ugly shoes on your feet?

His father replied, "These are 'babouches", which keep us from burning our feet from hot sand in the desert."

"So tell me then," added the boy.

"Yes, my son?"

"Why are you living in Dearborn, Michigan, and still wearing all this shit?

Oh the wisdom of a child.

Oh the stupidity of rednecks. I guess Jews shouldn't wear Yamakas either.

Hey! America is the Land Of The Free, unless you dress funny...

The indians thought white people dressed funny when you were immigrants too. Happy Thanksgiving!

If you moved to a different country, wouldn't you still wear your usual clothes? Would not the dress of that country seem foreign or strange to you. This inability to feel empathy or to have the cognitive ability to relate to others is why the world will never take you hillbillies seriously.

Look in the mirror before you dare call anyone a stupid redneck. FYI Einstein, a Yamaka is religious attire while what was mentioned in this post are cultural and specific to a region.

Stupid comparison 9:24. When you leave a country it is because you are dissatisfied. When you chose to immigrate, common sense should tell you to melt in-the melting pot, otherwise keep yourself put. Choosing to not melt in means you want to bring your culture to your adopted country and that is not what immigration is all about.

The CitIdiots question nothing which is why the country is in ruin.

Them dang citidoiots. They become doctors and scientists. Develop cures for cancer and other diseases. Here is an idea. Stop going to the doctor and pray the lung cancer away after smoking Reds for 50 years.

It is not how someone dresses that make the person, the exception being showing to much skin like the pants with no belt, that is just sloppy. I am sure for those wearing Arab garb it is a statement of their homeland and where they lived, I don't mind that. It is when another nationality or race tries to take away our rights, such as Confederate flags and statues that I have a problem, everyone has the right to pursue life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as long as it doesn't take away our history and what we honor.

We need to pass laws like France has, if you want to live in France, you must become French, or leave!

My people left loincloths behind about 1000 years ago. But I do have to admit that loincloths are pretty comfortable.

LOL-If anyone needs to get off the Eastern Shore and see how it is in the real world it is you 9:24. You are living in total LaLaLand. Try just visiting much less moving to Saudi Arabia and continue to "wear your usual clothes" and see what happens. If you are a woman don't even wear something such as capris and a sweatshirt. You will be continuously met with heckling, ridicule and possibly things thrown at you. You don't believe me-look it up on the State Dept website. At the very minimum you are to wear loose fitting ankle length dresses and your head covered with a scarf in public. This goes for almost all Middle Eastern countries now. Egypt was the exception as was Libya pre the disastrous Arab Spring.

4:35 More than one way spell Kippah!

No one will doubt your faith when you're wearing a handsome Kippah, either in everyday life or during special occasions. The Kippah, which is also referred to as a yarmulke or yamaka, has a long history in Judaism and is a marker of Jewish faith and reverence to God.

4:43 There are many located throughout wicomico county. Most are old shorelines dating back to the last ice age, but your belief that some celestial being created the Earth and everything here in 6-7 days prevents you from accepting scientific facts. The planet is round - not flat!

If you moved to Florida would you still wear the same clothes there as you do here?

Seriously the fool 9:24 attempts to talk a big game i.e.-". This inability to feel empathy or to have the cognitive ability to relate to others"
but the pathetic reality is, 9:24 is completely and utterly ignorant as to how things are in the real world.
Yes, try going to any Middle Eastern country and dressed western style and see how that works out for you. Even US Servicewomen can't go off base without their heads covered at the minimum.
Now a days you only have to go to Europe. Try dressing western style and walking into one of the "no go zones" (Muslim areas)in France and see what happens.
So 9:24 before you ever again try an inflate your importance by calling others hillbillies, educate yourself-do you understand. Your ignorance is nauseating a product of the dumbed down US "education" system no doubt!

I didn't buy or need different clothes when I was in Dubai. They wore theirs, i wore mine and we enjoyed each others company. If not mistaken, the UAE is in the middle east. When was the last time you left the eastern shore or the US?

8:34 I know all about the UAE and if you did you would know the UAE is made up of 7 individual Emirates each with their own independent judicial system with variations in law including issues such as dress. Sharia work alongside criminal and civil courts. There is also a federal judicial system and Dubai (nor is Ras Al Khaimah) is NOT part of the federal system. This because of tourism and Western business interests. The almighty dollar winning out over the almighty Allah.
Being in Dubai does not give anyone a complete picture of how life is in the UAE.
I've traveled extensively including UAE and other Middle Eastern countries and all over Europe. This past summer was in Switzerland to organize furniture and household items shipped to the US. Traveled to Germany while there to see Fleetwood Mac.

I've not been to Dubai but my friends were while the husband worked there for a few years with one of the defense contractors. The wife tried to live there but ended up coming back here. While they were there or visited the wife and 2 daughters were told to dress conservatively and to cover their heads because the company could lose lots of money because the Muslims he was involved with would lose respect for him if the females in his household dressed western. This was in Dubai, 8:34 and only about 2 or 3 years ago.

My female friend who works for an internally known architectural firm was in the UAE and her work told her to dress conservatively also. She also tells the story about how she wasn't there for 5 minutes before she got basically bullied into buying a scarf to cover her head from some toothless, stinky old lady who got in her face. She tried to protest saying she wasn't going into a mosque, but the old lady yelled at her and told her if you look and can see a mosque cover your head. Bystanders were sort of cheering the old lady on. She reported it to someone who told her to basically ignore these people as they were something like we would call a gypsy but she said you can't ignore them because they are scary and in your face.

8:34 When did you visit the UAE? I'm asking because in the past few years with an influx of foreign visitors many in that country have gone on a dress code campaign. Even Dubai which is less conservative then the rest of the county, it isn't advisable to even wear loose fitting below the knee cargo shorts for men much less women. You can do it but expect at the minimum stares and a few insults tossed at you.
