Narrative: On 30 September 2015 a deputy arrested Lisa Marie Wilkins following an investigation into the theft of property and cash from the office of the Traveler’s Motel in Delmar. The investigation began in March 2015 when the motel management discovered rent money missing from the office. The investigation focused on an employee, Lisa Wilkins, who told management she collected the rent money from three tenants, put the money in her pocket and then somehow managed to lose or misplace it. The money was never located and management was unable to contact or locate Wilkin following the theft. The investigating deputy obtained a warrant for her arrest but her whereabouts were unknown.

In July 2015, Wilkins returned to the motel when management was not present and entered the office using a key she still had. Wilkins took cash from a drawer and a computer tablet. During the ensuing investigation into this theft, the deputy located the purloined tablet at a local pawn shop and discovered that Wilkins was the one who sold it. A second warrant for Wilkins’ arrest was then obtained.

Wilkins was apprehended on 30 September 2015 when it was reported that she was spotted on a property adjacent to the motel. Upon arrest, she was transported to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following her initial appearance, Wilkins was detained in the Detention Center in lieu of $23,000.00 bond.
