Read The Gag Order Issued In Freddie Gray Trials

The gag order at the trials of the six officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray has now been put into writing.

On Tuesday, at the end of a motions hearing, Judge Barry Williams issued the order from the bench.

"I do not want you discussing my orders with anyone...except your clients and your experts," Williams told lawyers at the end of Tuesday's proceedings.

In the written order dated on Wednesday, and posted on the Court's website on Friday, Williams wrote that, "there is a substantial likelihood that certain forms of publicity, such as extrajudicial statements by the parties involved in this case to members of the press or media, could impair the rights of the Defendant, the State and the public to a fair trial by an impartial jury."

Williams wrote that likelihood makes it necessary to "take limited steps" regarding statements to the media.

Having had experience as a juror in a case similar to this, jury nullification was openly discussed during deliberations. We asked to review evidence which may have helped convict - but were denied...as soon as the denial note came back - we voted for not-guilty (they can't re-try)...it was a similar stupid prosecution - like this one!
