Ben Carson Calls On Christians: Get In The Game

Ben Carson, the former neurosurgeon who’s risen to second place in the polls for president in recent weeks, told a group of Christians and political activists it’s high time for those of the faith to get in the game and put God back in charge of America.

“It is time to bring God back into our country,” Carson said, Breitbart reported. “Our faith gives us our freedom.”

He made the comments while addressing a crowd of 7,000-plus at the recent Faith and Freedom Coalition Presidential Candidate Forum moderated by Jack Graham. Carson also spoke about his new book, “A More Perfect Union,” which focuses on bringing America back in line with constitutional roots.

“The people are supposed to have a say in how they live,” Carson said, speaking of the power of self-governance.

It will appeal to Christians, of course. Although I believe Mr. Carson is a good man, with the integrity to uphold the freedom our country was founded upon, the willingness of a population to vote based primarily upon religious tenets is worrisome.

His words echo those of countless leaders throughout history, particularly the past several decades. And the people became caught up in it, letting a mere mortal who claims to speak for an "invisible king" take the reins. Yet it's the shadowy characters behind the screen, the string-pullers and puppetmasters, the Valerie Jarretts and George Soros, who are never held accountable when that invisible king morphs into an untouchable, inviolable dictator.

"It is time to bring Allah back into our country", says the aspiring leader. "Islam gives us our freedom".

Same words. Same appeal to the dissatisfied, the unworldly, the uneducated, the uninformed, the ignorant, and the unhinged...as it appeals to the truly faithful, good people searching for a beacon of morality.

These seemingly harmless, inspiring and benevolent words are dangerous in the wrong hands, and for this reason alone, should not be the basis of one's support. How many times have the bearded buffoons in the Middle East recited those words to the eager faithful? And how did that work out for the citizens of those countries? Not too well.

I'd love to see a Trump/Carson campaign, I think this country needs them to help put the country back on track, out of the socialist apologist welfare abyss it's sinking into. But people have got to think for themselves, and vote based on more than just a promise of allegiance to an invisible friend.

I don't think anybody (especially Ben Carson) is advocating voting based solely on religious beliefs. That would be almost as dumb as voting based on gender or color.
But it does need to figure into the choice, as it does have a significant impact on the choices the leader might make, and the way he or she will govern..

Isn't it time we had a Jewish President?

Absolutely NOT.
