Encourages Area Business Leaders to Attend and Share Experiences
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan has announced that the recently formed Regulatory Reform Commission will hold its first regional meeting on Thursday, September 10, at Baltimore City Community College. This is the first of six meetings to be held throughout the state this fall.
Earlier this summer, Governor Hogan issued Executive Order 01.01.2015.20, which established the Regulatory Reform Commission. The commission will conduct an extensive review of the state’s regulatory climate to identify issues that impact Maryland businesses.
“Years of overregulation, tax increases, and an anti-business attitude have had a devastating impact on Maryland’s economy and have limited our ability to compete regionally and nationally,” said Governor Hogan. “For years we have heard from citizens and business leaders from across the state who repeatedly describe the onerous, antiquated, and duplicative regulatory obstacles they encounter in order to do business in Maryland. This commission will seek to identify and resolve such problems.”
The governor encourages area business leaders to attend the commission meetings to share their experiences and provide feedback and recommendations. “With the input of area business leaders, we will continue our goal to fix Maryland’s regulatory environment and change Maryland for the better,” said Governor Hogan.
