Barbiere owner John Interval was fined for gender discrimination after a woman came in with her boyfriend and requested a fade haircut. Interval claims that his staff recommended other locations and offered to pay for her haircut elsewhere.
According to Interval, his barbershop is a place where men go to be around other men. He referred to it as “a little getaway,” which features complimentary spirits and beer on tap.

Is this sort of like the women's spa, where a manicure, pedicure, hair styling, massage and glass of wine are offered, and where women come to find a "little getaway" in a place that caters to the needs of women?

As a woman I have no problem with this business wanting to be for men only....I have plenty of other options when I want to get my hair cut. Private businesses should be able to cater to anyone they want. Yes, regardless of race, sex, age etc...
