The mother of a rioter says she regrets telling her son to turn himself in.
Allen Bullock, 18, appeared on the front page of the Baltimore Sun last Sunday, smashing a car windscreen with a traffic cone. It was two days before a state of emergency was declared in the Maryland capital to control riots.
After seeing the newspaper, Bullock's stepfather Maurice Hawkins told him he had to 'do the right thing' and contacted police.
But now, with Bullock's bail set at $500,000 and the threat of eight years in jail, his family has wavered in their conviction.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
they probably only told him to turn himself in because they thought they would get the same accolades as the other mom that stopped her son from rioting. too bad this guy had already done the damage, now he has to pay for his actions. too little too late for that guy
Good point 10:47. You hate to doubt but given the way these people behave does give rise to others having thoughts about ulterior motives on their part.
$500k bail?? I mean, yes he's a dirtbag thug, but considering the much lower bail set for raoists and pedophiles, it just seems excessive. Unless there are some special circumstances that leads them to believe he can and will flee of course.
