Incident: Drowning
Date & Time: April 13, 2015 @ 2037 Hours
Location: 32 Matthew Drive, Crumpton, MD
Deceased: ERIC WILLIAM HARDY (2) of Crumpton
Mother: Heather Lynn Truitt of Crumpton
Father: Donald William Hardy Jr. of Crumpton
Narrative: Father was cleaning up from dinner and fixing snacks for kids while the mother left the residence to go to a nearby store. Checked on the kids and noticed the 2 year old missing. The father then called the mother to see if the child was with her.
When he learned that the child was not with her, he and neighbors began to search area and the mother immediately returned. Father observed victim in a nearby pond (50-100 feet away) and jumped in. 911 was called and neighbors began CPR. The child was transported to Chester River Medical Center in Chestertown where efforts to revive the child continued for several hours before being pronounced dead.
