Fallout from this year's legislative session was on full display at a Board of Public Works meeting in Annapolis Wednesday, with Gov. Larry Hogan referencing a slight from House leadership and Treasurer Nancy Kopp pleading with him to think of children and seniors.
What transpired could be important as Hogan tries to carry out his agenda of tax cuts and fiscal reform in coming years. While the Republican governor won a few tax cuts in his first session, his first session did not include many of the business moves pushed by organizations like the Greater Baltimore Committee. His wins included an expanded income tax break for military veterans and a removal of the so-called "rain tax" that requires counties charge storm water remediation fees.
Although Hogan will need to work with legislative leaders to advance his own priorities in the future, he was clearly unhappy with House Speaker Michael E. Busch Wednesday. Hogan moved from discussing spending on a communications system on the Board of Public Works agenda to slam a decision by Busch not to put a supplemental budget the governor proposed in front of lawmakers.
Hogan called Busch's move "petulant" and unprecedented. That prompted Kopp, a Democrat, to jump in.

Hogan certainly has a hostile road ahead of him. AND to make matters worse he is trying to clean up a mess made by the democrats and getting no help or support.
Well, I do believe that if the democrats still there don't listen to "we the people" then systematically they will be voted out as well.
Hogan won for a reason.
pay back is a b Michael busch. We need to get him and some other problem children out.
Well said 12:49 well said
love the unbiased use of the word "bitter" along with the war on women (Nancy Kopp)
12:49 PM - Hogan didn't win all of the legislative seats. He still has to work WITH others who happened to win their OWN elections. It's called democracy.

These Socialist Democrats been entrenched in their seats for long time, so it will take some time for Hogan to clean the house from those Slimeballs. Go Larry Hogan, just keep pushing these turds out, step by step, and hold their feet to the fire and don't let up! We the People, got your back.l!
