Despite Ever-Expanding Police State Measures, Cops Worse Than Ever at Solving Crimes. Here’s Why.Police2

If you were murdered today, there’s only a 60% chance of police catching the person who did it. That number drops to 3% if you’re raped. 50 years ago, that number was much higher. What happened?

Despite overwhelming disapproval from the public, the war on drugs wages on and we are witnessing the inevitable materialization of a fascist police state before us.

The irony here is that no matter how much money the state steals from us to fund themselves, and no matter how many tanks or AR-15s they acquire, they are solving far fewer crimes than before.

Police aren’t getting any closer to “winning” this ridiculous and immoral war on drugs either.

So, why aren’t police solving crimes?

The answer to that question can be found by looking at where police allocate much of their time and resources.

Civil asset forfeiture pays. Busting low-level drug dealers by the dozen and confiscating their drugs, guns, cars, houses, and money pays. Writing tickets for victimless crime pays. Pulling you over for window tint, seat belts, arbitrary traveling speeds, and expired license plates; these are the things that pay, not solving crimes.

In criminal justice, clearance rates are used as a measure of crimes solved by the police. The clearance rate is calculated by dividing the number of crimes that are “cleared” (a charge being laid) by the total number of crimes recorded.

Chris Rock already told everyone how NOT to get their ass kicked by the POlice. Was'nt anyone listening?

That's because they don't do there job as intended . When ever a crime is committed or a disturbance they do very little investigating and many times people that call them get locked up because the cops don't like the way they talk or look. they are more interesting in beating people and they feel the badge gives them that right. people go to jail everyday lose their jobs and many times their lives because of some ignorant cop , and many times found no guilty of the trumped up charges against them. We live in a police state you can believe it or leave it alone. We are dealing with a Satanic mind in this Country .

Revenue enhancement.
Whats the apprehension rate for thugs who kill cops?
Probably close to 95%, because when a cop get shot, no stone is left unturned, no mountain range not searched, no innocent citizen unscathed.
YOU or I get killed and its a report. No armies of cops combing the woods, setting up roadblocks and "perimeters", no massive unrelenting searches, no warrantless home invasions, nothing. just a report.
THAT'S equal justice and "protecting us"???
Know your place on the food chain.
They do.
keep cheering.

yea but their tag light fine revenue is way up

Hey 10:09, it always amazes me when people like you speak authoritatively and with such conviction implying you know what you are talking about when, in fact, you have no idea what you are saying. FYI, police don't "fine" you for an inoperative tag light. That is an SERO (Safety Equipment Repair Order) that has no associated fine. It simply requires you to get it fixed. Let me guess, you are the only person around here who got a ticket for an inoperative tag light instead of an SERO. Ok Brian Williams, nice story and all but, if you don't have pics, it didn't happen. From now on just talk about things you know about like, what is the most popular item that you sell while working at McDonald's.

When everything starts going to Jury trials and Jury Nullification shows how the people feel, maybe they'll start getting it right!

Really getting tired of the Police being bashed so much along with being killed. I would love to see the results if all agencies would just be disbanded for a week. The bashers would scream the loudest that they were raped, robbed, etc. As I have mentioned, being an ex-LEO I can state that I know and have worked w/ more LEOs than the very vast majority of posters on here and can say unequivocally, that those that deserve bashing are very much in the minority.

The "out tag light" is just a catalyst to an improper search, because as we all know, if your tag light is out marijuana will certainly be smelled by the tax collector on scene.

Anonymous said...

Idiot. Its not a fine. Just a lame way to start off looking for how to make the real money or bother someone to see who or what's in their car. Are you cops blind? Can't read a tag in the daylight or with your head lights on the tag? I'm really why waste your time on a tag light?

Chris Rock has taken selfies of his 3 stops in 7 weeks. Cops are now the fattest employees in America. Maybe that's why they shoot everyone since they can't chase them down now?

Hey jack look how the NY cops quit making arrests except violent crimes to kiss of the mayor! Arrest down 60% and no revenues lost! I beg for the cops to take off forever! And your tired of cops being bashed? Shouldn't you be tired of the cops making the real good cops " mostly retired like yourself " look bad?

Anonymous said...

That's a fact jack! Richards that is!

Anonymous said...

Then if any deserve bashing and none of you cops have spoke up and fixed that problem then your all just as bad. Guilt by association! Right out of your own mouth sir. There are bad cops locally! And you supposed good cops allow it!

Don't forget that the courts and legislators support this police revenue stream.

Are you talking about the police or muslims? They are starting to act the same recently.

Anonymous said...

Both to answer your question. They both emulate Isis. Do as I say or we kill you. What we say is law of the land regardless of how absurd. We are inferior! Blah blah blah. Boils down to the fact they both hate being called pigs! Smdh. Amazing how I can compare the two. That's right. Our governments Isis groups are the police!

Anonymous said...

jack give it a rest ok. Why didn't you speak up when you were employed? I guess you never saw anything that wasn't right or questionable, huh?

Anonymous said...

Oh Jack, Jack, Jack, you're tired of the police bashing? Well we are tired of the bashing as well. The COPS bashing people that is.

You keep talking a lot of smack about how good cops really are and that old wives tale about how the bad cops are such a minority. In case you haven't noticed, people have realized that that is bs.

And you want all cops to take off? SO DO WE! And it won't be all doom and gloom as you and other knuckleheads would like us to believe.

One town recently fired it's entire police force and CRIME WENT DOWN!

Mostly because it was the COPS doing all the crime.

You can keep spouting that nonsense if you like, we all know better. And you just make yourself look the fool. Which is also fine. Just proves the case even more.

Oh, and enjoy your taxpayer funded pension and retirement. I'm sure you 'earned' it.

Truth- 1) Americans nowadays do not care enough to get involved. 2) The "stop snitching" hoodrats have made it cool not to cooperate with police. 3)Victim cooperation is at an all time low for serious, violent crime.

So if you don't want police help, then you don't have to right to complain about your crime not being solved.

8:44 you are full of it...bet your eyes are BROWN! Jack is right on the money, I guess the truth slapped your face. Does the law require that your tag light be operational??? Its the damn law!!! Stop complaining look your vehicle over before you leave the driveway, idiot! Then if they POPO pull you over because you are white then claim racial profiling!

Anonymous said...

Why is it against the law? To give police more reason to engage people .

my daughter got a $110 fine by a md. state trooper for having a necklace around her rear view mirror, NOW THATS FIGHTING CRIME. takes a real badass to confront a 19 year old female on her way to work

Your daughter's story is the sad, sad truth of today and further shows the rest of us what LE truly is.
A revenue generating cult with a liturgy tying straight to the fascist police-state that America has become. LE is no longer the honorable profession of your father's day. No longer does LE 'protect & serve'. LE is now the militaristic arm of evil, the ISIS of our gov't. And, DO NOT expect any relief from the fascists that fain to represent us in our various legislatures, for they can only see the dollars this American ISIS deliver.

Corporal at sheriffs office just told me it can be a repair order or a fine! And he admitted it is really a way to engage people. Used the exact word of " fishing". He admits its a great way to get big fish. Normally I'd boo him. After my convo with him.... It is nice to talk to an honest deputy. He has no shame in it. He also has stated he wrote his boss up twice for at fault accidents. I may not agree with cops but respect and honesty goes far officers. Ty corporal for our convo today.

Anonymous said...

That corporal I spoke of above told my daughter the same today. He admitted its a waste but again just a way to engage the public.

you kops writing on here are so full of bs. It is well documented that in several towns when the police force was disbanded the level of crime went way down. Appears the police were pushing arresting people for even the slightest infraction, had nothing to do with real crime just justifying their existence!
We're all willing to put up with a certain level of crime it just depends on who's doing it, The politicians? the kops? the crooks? Unfortunately us poor working slobs are getting screwed from all sides!

Crime went down? Or just unreported?
