Salisbury News Has Now Published More Than 650,000 Comments

I have stated it for years now, COMMENTS are what prove the influence of a Website.

If you can get your audience to participate and express their thoughts and feelings on any given topic, the more people are going to influence their lives and others.

Salisbury News has now published 650,000 comments. Now sit back and think how long that takes, reading every single one of them and publishing them, let alone the ones we've rejected.

Don't forget how long it takes to publish anywhere between 75 to 100 articles a day! We do it because we want to help make a difference here on the Shore. However, what good is all this work if no one comments. That's what I keep telling others when you look at other Websites out there.

We thank all of you for participating each day. Our elected officials pay close attention to what's published here and IF you want to improve your quality of life, well, your comments do make a major difference.

I'll close with this. The reason your local news outlets force people to use Facebook is two fold. ONE, they will retaliate against you by knowing who you are and TWO, because they cannot compete with Salisbury News. IF they could, they'd go to anonymous comments and guess what, they'll never do it, (especially now) because it would be too embarrassing.

Joe: thank goodness you allow anonymous comments. It gives a voice to others in the community who want to speak up! No that I want to bring up the other blogger but when he turned off anonymous comments I laughed - I knew that would never work.

Probably twice that, half of which came from you know who.
