Maine senator won't resign over post tying Obama to IS group

AUGUSTA, Maine — A Maine senator says he has no intention of resigning over a series of offensive Facebook posts, including one that suggests President Barack Obama's family members are part of the Islamic State group.

Republican state Sen. Michael Willette asked his colleagues for their forgiveness Wednesday and promised his "mistake in judgment" won't be repeated.

The Democratic Party says Willette should step down over a "prolific online history of racist and bigoted remarks."

He should not step down for stating the truth. Its just what everybody knows to be true but they are afraid to say it. It's time Americans stand up for what is right and take our country back. And Obama is just not right for our country. He was raised Muslim and is doing all he can to tear down our country and hand it over to the Muslims.

I wouldn't apologize for anything...

If it is true then there is no harm nor foul... If it is false, unless it damages obamas rep which if what has been said or been happening to date hasn't then this won't...

This is freedom of speech PERIOD!!!
