ELKTON — When U.S. Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md.-1st, met with Cecil County Executive Tari Moore and the county council Monday, March 9, it didn’t take long for the conversation to turn to substance abuse.
The congressman was in Cecil County on a multi-stop visit, which included a meeting with county officials.
Cecil County Health Officer Stephanie Garrity updated Harris on the county’s efforts to reduce substance abuse and overdose deaths over the last year.

I really hope Andy understands that 0 people and counting have died from using marijuana.
I'm not so sure 0 people have died from smoking marijuana but the kids who are smoking weed, almost all want to try heroin because it's the same kind of high-a downer. This is why heroin has exploded as opposed to meth which is an upper. The dealers market heroin to the weed smokers saying if they like weed they will love heroin. Don't be so naive. Weed IS the gateway drug to heroin because it's the same though more intense high. Another reason why weed smokers switch is because they can shoot heroin in the home and parents can't smell it.
He needs to keep out of DC politics. The voters there have spoken. End of story time to move on.
Stop demonizing marijuana and people might pay attention to you.
When you lump in marijuana all credibility is lost.
8:54....you SHOULD be "sure" about zero deaths from smoking marijuana. Why?
Because it's the unvarnished, hate-to-break-it-to-you, can't be denied TRUTH. 100%. No doubt about it.
In the history of mankind.
And your analysis of the drug market and the motivations of those involved sounds like you are parroting some DEA handbook instead of thinking for yourself.
10:30 put you in your proper place.
Do you also still think that marijuana will turn you into a ravenous werewolf with an insatiable sexual appetite? I think that is still the official DEA line...
Despite that MJ will not turn you into a werewolf there are plenty of reasons not to use that drug or any other for recreation. Harris and I agree on this one. Only drug users and people who see a way to profit off its use think differently.
