Property Owner’s Snow Removal Responsibilities. All property owners adjacent to any street within the City limits are responsible for the removal of snow from their sidewalks. The snow must be removed for the entire length of their property for a width of four feet. The removal must take place within six hours after the snow has stopped falling. If the snow stopped between the hours of 5 PM and 7 AM, then the snow needs to be removed before 2 PM. This City ordinance’s purpose provides the ability for our residents and visitors to move freely and safely throughout the City without fear of an accident because the snow has not been removed from the sidewalk. The property owner is liable for such accidents. Also, it is important our school children use the sidewalks and not be forced to utilize the streets. All of our citizens must be afforded the opportunity to travel on City streets in a safe manner. Please help us make the City of Salisbury safe during severe weather conditions.
Who gives a crap... My taxes paid for that service to the city in which they refuse to do it and now force you to do it or get fined...
Don't you love how all of these taxes in which you pay for services from the city in which they won't even provide yet you pay for it, All for the kids though right???
Just like how Delmar is being gutted so all the kids can go to other surrounding schools so, wait for it, they can build more new schools, because we all know, new schools means smarter people right??? We all know new schools means people will go right???
The City of Salisbury is a disgrace. The roads are horrible, the streets are all torn up and this snow plowing is a joke. My husband was going down one of the clear streets yesterday in the city and they were salting it. Go figure!! What about the bad streets. They are not doing anything. Since this Mayor has been in office the City of Salisbury has certainly gone downhill. They need a new one that has a backbone and make this City one to be proud of again!!!
SHA truck was plowing South Blvd today even though it was already clean and the sparks were flying. Yet one block over on Ridge and it is a solid sheet of ice.
