Obama: Being a Stay-at-Home Mom Is "Not a Choice We Want Americans to Make"

However it is my choice, not his. And, just where in the Hell are the jobs?

That makes me so mad! I have a college degree and I made the choice to stay home with my kids. I would go to work if the jobs were there.... You know, the jobs that pay enough for me to make it worth sending my kids to a good daycare. A.) good daycare is hard to find B.) it's prohibitively expensive (unless the state is paying for it for you.... Whole different soap box) C.) daycares are typically 7:30am - 5pm if you are lucky and most of the better paying jobs in my area are nights and weekends. I have 2 children, daycare would cost at least $1,000/month. Its cheaper for me to stay home and raise my kids, knowing they are getting the care that only a mother can give, until they are at least school age. I enjoyed being part of the workforce, but don't act like being a stay at home mom isn't a job, or that it's a poor choice! Shame on the president! Other countries offer years of paid maternity leave and encourage mothers to raise their own children, all the while knowing that their job is secured for when they return to the workforce, some offer as much as 3 years!!!!

The time I have spent at home with my son has been an incredible gift. Part of my choice was necessity, with the points mentioned above about good daycare.

He is an idiot. So disappointed with how his presidency has turned out, and the state of our country as a result.

He is touting the feminist agenda.

Trying to convince Americans they don't want a normal life.

WTH? I am a feminist AND a stay-at-home mom. I believe women should have the choice to work in the workplace or to stay at home. And I support MEN having that choice, too!

Years ago, Hillary insulted stay-at-home moms and their baking cookies. I have worked outside the home and worked like a dog in it, too.

Both have their pluses and the time I spend with my kids is precious. What is the matter with these people?

Oh, btw, my hubby got to be stay-at-home dad for close to a year thanks to THEIR wonderful economy. I worked two jobs to keep it together. But we saw it as a gift because he said it was super to get to do that.
