Bend Over Salisbury Residents, Here's How They'll Get YOU To Pay For Those 12 Firefighters and MORE!

More information can be found HERE

Publisher's Notes: If you've been around as long and I've been around you'd remember that ALL of these fees were designed initially to which when they billed you and you did not pay it, the City would write it off.

This is how LIBERALS get these things started. Then, Barrie Tilghman, (out of nowhere) started sending people to collection agencies. Now, (no matter what) the City wants their money, period. To top it off, it's not good enough. Now they want MORE from YOU.

WHY, because rather then cutting back, they want to keep growing government and let the taxpayers and VICTIMS pay more. You already pay for these services in your City Taxes.

Ladies & Gentlemen, when the Fire Department sends you an envelope asking you to make a donation to the Fire Department, well, I'd take a paper towel and pick up my dog droppings and mail it back to the Fire Department letting them know what I think of their services.

Enjoy that new Rain Tax tonight too. DON'T MISS THE MEETING ON THIS TONIGHT. It's the first thing on the agenda at FIVE PM.

Looks like a MINIMUM 15% to a maximum of 175% rate hike. Thats amazing.
The towing companies fought for two years about rates, only to end up getting low-balled. When we asked for an increase (that is already in the ordinance to happen yearly anyways) they BALKED. Three years has passed and we STILL have not gotten that automatic increase, but the FD wants to raise rates and it's ok???
I know the two entities differ in the level of service, but the principal is the same.

Pure greed from Rick Hoppes. If EMS was separate you would not get these rate increases all the time. Nothing but greed.

Some anal lube would be nice.

The FD and the ER are in a fight to get all the PIP coverage from your auto insurance policy.

Way back in the day when Maryland was still referred to as "the FREE State" our taxes paid for fire, ambulance and police.

Not anymore so when liberals tell you about all those services you receive for higher taxes make them tell you exactly what it is you are getting.

I for one am still looking.

The Council meeting is listed as being on the 24th. They're not holding a special meeting tonight, are they? Or is tonight just a work session?

Ha! If we had socialized healthcare, this would just be included in our tax bill. This is just cruel!

If this is passed I hope everyone on the city council and in city government are the first ones that need the ambulance and their new rates. And if they don't pay it I hope they get a letter from the collection agency. This is absolutely, positively ridiculous. We keep paying over and over and over for the same services. Enough is enough already.

Move out of the tax trap of Salisbury.

It appears that they are increasing rates, based on what they perceive, is paid by insurance companies.

What I find hugely surprising is that they only collect 40% of what they bill. That could mean that they bill $1000 but the insurance only pays $400 so they have to eat or try and collect the balance. OR that means that 60% of the calls go unpaid for.

A 20% margin for error is ridiculous.

IF Medicare does pay that much, (and I doubt it), I agree they should bill for it.

Also, if they do not "participate" with your health plan, and I doubt they do, (because they do not have to - you have no other choice), that means that you have to pay what your insurance doesn't.

So what are my taxes paying for?

You also pay for the people who can't or won't pay their bill.why donate when you are forced to pay higher cost and it's tax payer funded. Salisbury FD won't get another penny from me and I'll drive myself to the ER.

Fire members and their family members will not have to pay, nor council or mayor.suck it up cupcake.

You taxes still pay for Police, Fire and EMS like it always has. This is just another tax to add on for the greedy Democrats.

Shame on Rick Hoppes for playing into that game.

My guess is that Rick Hoppes is playing this game to generate more income to pay for those 12 Free Frant Money firemen. I bet my guess is right.

This is just pure desperation on the part of the wannabe fire chief to rape the same citizens that pay his salary. Shame on you Rick Hoppes, Shame on you!!

The no pay bills are written off as you eluded to.

This is another example of the working class subsidizing the lazy that doesn't want to work.

Just got finished watching it.
They want to charge extra for refusal to transport. They want an extra charge for the service of the EMT or Fireman.
WTF , we already pay their salaries for this performance or service . Call an EMT and they refuse to work unless you agree to pay more for their service , NOT HARDLEY!!!

Why do you think they send a fire truck on just about every ambulance call??

Because they can charge for extra manpower with the paid firemen on the ambulance calls whether they are needed or not. RIP OFF!! Hold your wallets in Salisbury.

Why don't they pay for the 12 fire fighters with the 23 police positions they can't fill? Where is that money going? Barbara's pocket perhaps??

Here’s what’s so wrong about this picture. I have no problem paying my fair share IF the Department was wisely spending OUR money. To send an engine on medic calls to build call volume, WHEN it suits them. Building ANOTHER new fire station, fire boats etc. When they stop WASTING OUR $, I’ll gladly pay more. In the meantime the hell with them! And they call themselves “public servants”, how about “public thieves, behind a face piece”!

The BFD has lost complete focus what and who they once were. They have become self centered crooks, and Hoppes and his few followers. I once called them brothers, now they are outcasts.

Only the tax payers will be affected.yet the non-paying citizen continue to abuse the system.
