Americans with Disabilities Act, Rehabilitation Act Coordinators Named

Mayor James Ireton, Jr. wishes to notify the public that the City of Salisbury has selected two city staff members to coordinate the City’s efforts to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Ms. Sherrell McBride, who also works with the Mayor’s Council in Support of Persons with Disabilities, has been identified as the City’s ADA Coordinator. Ms. McBride’s contact information is as follows:

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 protects people with disabilities or handicaps from discrimination in programs and activities that receive Federal financial assistance – such as housing, homeless services, community development programs and Fair Housing Assistance programs. Ms. Ginny Hussey has been identified as the City’s Section 504 Coordinator. Ms. Hussey’s contact information is as follows:

So now with the new rain tax in Salisbury these folks might get new mud grips for their wheelchairs.
