'Why do I have to be half-naked to swim?'

Muslim woman in traditional dress barred from swimming in public pool with her children

A Colorado city is promising to revise its swimsuit rules after a Muslim woman was turned away from its recreation center pool for wearing an Islamic dress over a shirt and pants.

Saba Ali said that she offered to just wear the shirt and pants to swim on Sunday but was denied.

Commerce City spokeswoman Michelle Halstead says street clothes aren't allowed in the pool because they can increase the likelihood of contamination and waterborne illness.

Swimming with clothes on makes you very tired very quickly, and you could easily drown. That would open up a lawsuit from your family for allowing you to do that.

Here's your sign....

Well, once you get soaked, the clothes will cling to your body , showing it, as if you were wearing a suit. So why is that different?

Maybe they don't want you there. I know I don't.

Public pools, and most privately owned pools have rules posted stating that ONLY SWIM WEAR ALLOWED! Why do you think you are sooo special that rules are for you - oh I know YOUR MUSLIM!!!!

Here in America men expect to see women half naked in a bikini unless of course they're nasty. Unfortunately some nasty owned still insist on wearing a bikini. Stop whining, wear a bikini, and enjoy being in AMERICA!
