Police: Phelps BAC Nearly Twice Legal Limit; Court Date Set

A trial date is set for November 19, for Michael Phelps, following his second DUI arrest in ten years.

Phelps was arrested early Tuesday in Baltimore.

"I understand the severity of my actions and take full responsibility," Phelps said in a statement issued late today.

"I know these words may not mean much right now but I am deeply sorry to everyone I have let down."

Reports say he had just finished an 8-hour gambling session at the Horseshoe Casino. Sources say he had been playing blackjack in a private gambling room since 5 p.m. and left around 1 a.m.

Celebrity justice will prevail. Probation, 20 hours of community service and told not to do it again. Pretty much just like last time!

But was the night a net gain or loss? That's the elites mentality.

I bet Kevin Beauchamp remembers him?

Michael Phelp - "Do you know who I am!"

11:17 AM that is what Michael Phelps told the trooper when he was arrested for DUI like that meant he was someone important. Thank you Kevin for being professional and locking him butt up anyway.

Ironically Phelps' father is a retired state trooper who really had nothing to do with him. Not sure if that is by choice or not, but mothers can be nasty and not let a father see their child.

Ban him for life from any liquid.

Thank Wicomico Courts for letting him go on the 'first offense'. They say they thought he would be an advocate for MAAD but in reality they wanted to share the limelight with him on T.V. I want to thank the Judicial System for making sure Phelps teaches Eastern Shore children how to drive drunk and prosper for it.

1:37 If they attend any of the multitude of festivals/drunkfests around here, with their parents, they know all about drunk driving.

His drinking added to his age will surely hinder him in the pool. He will not be bringing home the gold again. Drinking heavily destroys your health...but I'm sure Mr. Phelps knows this.
