Up to 100 people were in contact with the Dallas Ebola patient at some point, Texas health officials said today, marking a significant jump from the 18 people that authorities had said may have been exposed to the deadly virus.
Four members of 42-year-old Thomas Eric Duncan's family have been legally ordered to stay home as a precaution even though they are not showing symptoms, the Texas Department of State Health Services said in a statement on Thursday. Violating the order could result in criminal charges.
The health officials said around 100 people may have come into contact with Mr Duncan. Earlier, they had put the figure at up to 18, including five children.
Some parents have temporarily removed their children from Dallas schools after learning that the five students may have come into contact with the first person to be diagnosed with Ebola in the U.S.

Obama has failed in his sworn duty to protect this country from harm! NO one from any of the the countries with the outbreak should be allowed into this country or should be quarrenteened for 22 days before being allowed in. They say 100 people, but that probably is not even the tip of the iceburg. They reported he threw up outside his apartment. What did they do with that? Then he was taken by ambulance to the hospital, that means medics, the ambulance is contaminated. When he went to the hospital the first time anyone that was in the emergency room and surrounding areas were contaminated. You are just kidding yourself if you think it is just 100 people.
Bring these people to the White House for Dinner. And let them play couple rounds of golf with Barry O. That would solve all of our problems.
100 will be acceptable when this thing goes full blown. Then we'll be looking at millions.
I totally agree with 1:05 PM, everyone coming in to this country should have to check in at the white house for an extended stay, while the Obamas are in residence, before being admitted anywhere else in our country.
Obama did this...Those of us who live in the country will be safer than the people who live in densely populated cities.
