A Letter To The Editor: Tri County

Joe Beaver Run School has had bad water for 20+ years and sewer problems. They had to live with it. Tri County has built a huge place out back of the original building but cant put it into use until they have city sewer/water. This is across from Beaver run School. This area at Tri County built this space to wash their vehicles, etc.

Same goes for the area at Morris Mill. These people were told the chemicals in the soil will cause cancer. They are told they need to be on city water and sewer. The citizens who some of them have lived there forever and are still living there and haven't died of cancer or anything else. It'd a ploy to get everyone hooked up to city services ($$$)

Our government is cunning, as you know.

Maybe the students will have good drinking water. Now tri county can wash all their vehicles.

And the source of the contamination for the Morris Mill wells came from where ?
The old timers in the area say the construction staging area from when they were building the bypass.

1108-Old timers? Bypass? You do realize the bypass is a relatively recent project, right?

Yes 11:38, if you consider 40 years as "recent". This area of Morris Mill was not yet developed and the road construction equipment was "PARKED" there for service and when not in use. WHICH MEANS equipment was cleaned (with chemicals) and oil changed for the several years the road was under construction. There are several other areas that were used as the work progressed. -An old-timer with a memory-

4 months seems like a long time ago to me

I resemble that remark

Used to be farm land with chemicals. It is just a ploy to scare the residents into making residents do something which is not necessary. SCARE THEM.

11:38, Very well stated.Thank you. I'm also in the 'over 60 camp'. Since it's in such a small,specific area,any other ideas ?
12:14, The chemicals found in the water were petro/industrial and not ag/farm.

What about the cleaners and fluids that were buried in the back of Crown Cork and Seal in 55 gallon drums? It was sealed over with a parking lot to stage shipping crates and truck trailers. this is the same type of solutions that were picked up in the well around Fruitland.
