Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release 9-12-14

On 08/31/2014 at approximately 1222 hours, a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy, responded to a residence on Beauchamp Road, Berlin, Maryland in reference to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The Deputy learned from the complainant that her son Curtis James Adkins had taken her vehicle without her permission.

During the investigation the Deputy was able to locate the vehicle in the Berlin area. The Deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of Old Worcester Highway and Katelyn Lane and made contact with the driver of the vehicle who was identified as Curtis James Adkins 28, of Berlin, Maryland. The Deputy requested a K9 scan on the vehicle and based on the K9’s positive alert for a controlled dangerous substance. A search of the vehicle was done and suspected Heroin and two unknown pills were found in the vehicle. Mr. Adkins was placed under arrest for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of a Heroin. Mr. Adkins was taken to the District Court Commissioner and held on a $3,000.00 bond.

On September 6th 2014 at 1130 hours a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was traveling south on US route 113 in the area of Johnson Neck Road. The Deputy observed a blue passenger vehicle traveling north on US route 113 at 65 miles per hour in the posted 55 mile per hour zone.

The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as Chrystal E Johnson of Snow Hill. A front seat passenger was identified as Antonio A Drummond.

As the Deputy spoke with the occupants of the vehicle the Deputy could smell the odor of suspected Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, and the Deputy observed a burnt marijuana cigarette sitting behind the left ear of Mr. Drummond. Mr. Drummond was charged with possession of Marijuana less than 10 grams and released on a Criminal Citation. Crystal Johnson received a warning for her speed.
