Ah, from the employer perspective.. define "provide a minimum contribution to the workplace". I am sure employees have a different view on such a statement.
You are paying me more whether you like it or not. Can you say, welfare.
@1:07 have you ever been given a raise, and then look at your paycheck and say what happened? I have! It is very possible to "Make more money, and bring home less than you did before"
1:24 is actually correct but it depends on one's income and deductions. I have been in the position where upon receiving an increase in pay, I owed the more taxes and therefore took home less pay on a annual basis. Adjusting my withholding and acquiring more deductions fixed the problem thanks to a good accountant.
I worked for a company where several of us turned down a pay raise due to the hrs we worked. We actually would have had less 'take home' pay per week. Not everyone is able to take deductions to offset the taxes we would have had to pay!

It will move them into a higher tax bracket and they will actually take home less, It's the government that will benefit.
It's mathematically impossible to "take home less" by moving up a tax bracket.
Perhaps you should learn how tax brackets work.

Impossible 1:24, hope you do not work in the accounting field.
