This is what happens when there is no real job creation and zero accountability in the county. I live in Sharptown and it is quite sad that the mess that is Salisbury is creeping northwest. Lord help us if we doin't get Pollit out of office this year.
No real job = no real edumacation.
I always wonder why Sharptown and Vienna have banks. They don't even have stoplights, but they have a bank.

6:02 Sharptown is a nice peaceful town unlike the heroin infested streets of Salisbury, probably where your from. So what we don't have stop lights but this town has a lot of history behind it and is nice and quiet. Yeah you will get something like this from time to time but other than that it's a great place.

So I just found out that neither Mardela High School or Northwestern Elementary were under lockdown today. Who at the board was out to lunch on that call? Student safety is "our number one concern". I think not. Somebody's head needs to roll!
Did law enforcement let them know there had been a robbery? I am sure there are no police scanners in school offices so how would they know?
If it was my bank I would have a sign on the door- " remove your hat and or sunglasses before entering"

could be stolen tag or car. if he used his own car, well, another installment of stupid criminals

They have banks because there is a demand for banking services in those communities. In the case of Sharptown and Vienna, Hebron Saving has the monopoly on providing those services.
Whats really sad is the large number of unbanked folks that cheat themselves out of thousands of dollars a year paying high fees to cash check and buy money orders to pay their bills.

And Im sure The schools were not locked down because Sharptown is not in Mardela and the incident was not close enough to lockdown a school and frighten young kids. common sense
Why do people have to be such idiots? If the thugs stayed in their own towns we would not have this type of crime.
Sharptown is a very nice town with lots of history and an awesome place to raise children.
Who ever said you had to have a stop light to have a bank? Prior to PNC buying out everything, we had 2 banks. Prior to the downfall of today's society we had a very safe town. Prior to the fall of the economy we had B&G Pickle Plant, Fish House and JV Wells Lumber Company and very busy banks.
Maybe the Mardela schools were not locked down because they are 7 miles from Sharptown and no danger to the students.
4:04, if you saw the bank then you were on a dead end street, this makes it a target because that end of main street is not well traveled.

Even though the bank is 7 miles away from the schools, the schools should have had some kind of safety lockdown. I think it's a code orange where they can still move around the school. Both schools have portables where many kids are outside the safety of the main building. Because of how Sharptown is laid out, there are not too many ways to escape. The main one goes right by the schools.
Of course, it's possible the authorities just forgot the schools are still a part of Wicomico County. Lord knows the BOE and community seem to forget that fact. Evidenced by one of the local news crews showing up to MMHS for the first day of school wondering where the kids were (this was some years back) for DORCHESTER's first day of school.
Our schools all have police scanners.
This shouldn't be too hard... who drives PT Cruiser's these days?
